Financial Assessment Officer
We are looking for someone to join us in our Adult Social Care Finance Team, in the role of a Financial Assessment Officer.
Your main role will be to visit individuals and their families in their own home or a residential care home in relation to charging for adult social care. This work will range from supporting someone to complete a financial assessment, understanding welfare benefits to identify benefit entitlements and use the Adult Social Care Charging Policy and the Care Act 2014 to implement the correct charging rules. You will need to be able to work independently, managing your own workload and priorities with high levels of autonomy. You must be comfortable in being able to deal with challenging face-to-face conversations with individuals and their families, in relation to the collection of monies for unpaid invoices for the care at home services and residential care services.
You will need to demonstrate that you can think on your feet and have exceptional communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach when presented with a number of different and potentially challenging situations. We are looking for an individual with a down to earth, common sense approach; people who are honest, trustworthy and reliable and who are prepared to roll their sleeves up and get on with whatever needs doing to best support our Finance Team and the wider community.
Whether you have background experience in finance or someone who is looking for a change in career path, we would love to hear from you!
